Back In the USSR- Research/Inspiration for Evening Gown

So I have to design a bloody evening gown for next week. Unlike most designers I don't get giddy at the thought of evening gowns because I have more of an edgy, tailored, "rock couture" minus the vulgarity aesthetic...Evening gowns are usually kind of foofy and airy and romantic and I get bit blocked. But I know I can combine both things and turn out something unexpected.

The contraints for this challenge are that I have to use embroidery, sequins, stones, paillettes etc, I have to use traditional luxury eveningwear fabrics like chiffon, velvet, silk, satin and I have to use a walking pose on my figure...

My inspiration is Soviet military and Russian...

Here is were my mind is going

OOOOO, I love me some Russian history and fashion. I am so extremely excited to see what you do with this.

Might I also suggest the Soviet National Anthem for inspiration? :)

And also because I just can't keep my mouth shut when it comes to Russian things...

Here's a famous Russian rock song... my Russian professor played this song for us back in college. The song is about "a turn in the road" and so the Soviet government censored it, but during the late years of the Soviet Union, large groups of people would gather in Red Square and sing it in protest, hoping for a change.

I don't know if this will help you with your inspiration but I always thought it was such a beautiful story and a powerful image that I love to share it.
