I have so much homework it's not even funny and on top of it I have to pull out of my bum edits, the results and the discussion section for the manuscript I have been working on. By Friday.
My right hand is EXTREMELY sore from sketching. I have drawn in two days 6 fashion figures to scale. They look great but I need to give my hand a rest. I have pretty much been drawing, actually drafting, non-stop for two days. It hurts but I love it. Robert Best, watch your back because here I come :-). For those of you who are not fashion or Project Runway or Barbie fiends ( that would mean you are a straight male) Robert Best was in the 3rd Season of Project Runway.
He is also a head designer at Mattel and one of the best fashion illustrators around. He's my illustration role model. The other one is Lucian Matis. Those two along with Chicken are probably the best sketchers I have seen in a while. Emmett McCarthy is pretty good too. Emmett and Robert are both Parson's boys. That's one thing about that school. They turn out KILLER sketchers consistently
Here is a cartoon that Robert is doing for iVillage based on Laura Bennett. He also made that INFREAKINGCREDIBLE trench coat for her.
What I would love to know is WHERE do I line up to procure one of those?
I only have one more figure to do and all my homework for that class is taken care of.
It is SO NICE to actually be taking classes in stuff that I am already pretty decent at that I don't have to fight throughout to do well.
As soon as I have some not basic, non boring sketches I will scan and post.
By the way, the photos are pilfered from Tom and Lorenzo's fabulous Project Rungay.
These are a few of Lucian's sketches so you can see what I mean too:
And these are Chicken's:
Pretty good, eh?
